TRULYSTYLES

Rallies. Protests. At least play fair.

I’ve been reading blogs and then I realised how much I miss UP. Okay, first things first. I have never been a fan of rallies. I personally think there is no need for massive protests which will cost you hours of your lessons (remember you pay for them now!) and then in the end be disappointed because you never reached your goal.

I believe that the Philippine Government (my opinion only) is undergoing changes and trials at the moment and this involved important political figures in the country. We need to understand that protesting against these social issues is merely repeating ourselves over and over as we cannot see change in an instant. Maybe give it time. There are only a handful of cases the government can handle at a time. Para namang hindi na tayo nasanay sa sistema ng bansa natin.

Saludo ako sa mga taong ipinaglalaban ang prinsipyo nila. But what will protesting do? This will only make the matters worse, for instance, violence. Besides little protests here and there will not make that great an impact. We need to unite for something that will benefit us all.

Revolution? No. I seriously do not have an answer for the question: What do we need to do? But I know that resorting to protests and rallies are not really productive.

Bottomline: It is not only the students from UP that want change. I believe all of Philippine nation wants it in different form. But if in any case you have a different view from us (yes I still am a proud Maroon!) PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE SITUATION WORSE BY THROWING CRITICISMS AND INVOLVING PERSONAL ISSUES. Play fair, at least, in every sense of the word.
